A historical monument called “Casa Cartagena y Santa Cruz de Cusco”.

This wonderful house was purchased in July 2006 by an Italian company. The proposed restoration of the House was studied by the Italian architect Roberto Bertetti (www.robertobertetti.it), who was appointed by the company to begin this arduous but important work, with the idea of restoring the ancient splendor to the property without altering the historical value of it. Work began in September 2007, under the close supervision of the National Cultural Institute of Peru, with a slow and meticulous restoration, keeping the original walls intact and reusing the same materials with which it was built years ago. The mud bricks and stones are some of the basic elements of the house, typical of the Andean region. This wonderful piece of architecture with original Incan walls and frescoes from the colonial era, which after a careful restoration by the School of Fine Arts of Cusco have been recovered and put on display, has allowed Casa Cartagena to be declared a "Cultural Heritage Monument of Peru."

With the idea of ​​giving a different style to the House, Architect Roberto Bertetti in collaboration with Diseño Interior Il Cubo Design & Forniture (www.ilcubo.it) was able to insert in this project pieces of art from famous designers, thus managing to turn Casa Cartagena into a unique place.

The main brands used in the decoration include Slide, Kundalini, Desiree, Ciacci, Trend, Frezza, Frauflex, Lemani, Flaminia, Pozzi, Viabizzuno and Kartell. Also, we can see touches of Peruvian artisan culture that merges perfectly with the style of the structure, valuing and respecting traditional Peruvian culture at the same time.

The restoration work was completed in December 2008 and the result has been an unmistakable contemporary work of art cleverly merged into a cultural and historical context just like the city of Cusco, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

For all this we can say that Cartagena Boutique Hotel & Spa Cusco is an example of a Luxury Boutique Hotel in Cusco, wonderful and unique in its style.
